Saxony: Sorbian team wins the opening game at the European Championship

Globasnitz (dpa/sn) - The Sorbian football selection successfully played their opening game at the European Championship of National Minorities in Carinthia (Austria). On Sunday she won 4-0 against the Cimbrians from Italy, a minority from Northern Italy. Jan Bogusz from SG Crostwitz scored two goals. As the Sorbian team announced on Monday, the Sorbian language dominated on the day of the match in Globasnitz - dozens of fans from Lausitz had traveled with them. On Tuesday, the Sorbian kickers will continue against FC Pomak. The Bulgarians are already under pressure after losing their opening game against Hungary's Roma 5-0.

The tournament started on Saturday and will take place in Carinthia (Austria) and one location in Slovenia until July 3rd. "The Europeada is more than just football. There will be no negative riots. We would like to send this message to other stadiums as well," said Loránt Vincze, President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities.
