Thuringia: 78-year-old drives against bridge railings: the reason is spiders

Jena (dpa/th) - After a 78-year-old in Jena discovered two spiders in her car while driving, she drove into a bridge railing. As a police spokesman said on Monday, the woman has a spider phobia. While driving over a bridge on Sunday afternoon, she noticed the spiders and tried to kill them. She hit the steering wheel so badly that her car rammed the railing of the bridge. As the spokesman said, the 78-year-old was "lucky in disguise". The railing stopped her car and she was unharmed.
