Thuringia: German National Theater shows Schiller's "The Robbers"

Weimar (dpa/th) - auditorium, light, sound technology: At the German National Theater (DNT) Weimar, the construction of the stage for the summer theater is in full swing. This year, Friedrich Schiller's first publication, "Die Räuber", is to be staged in the open air on the premises of the E-Werk, the DNT informed on Tuesday in Weimar. "We hope for the best summer theater weather for our performances," said a spokeswoman.

Event technicians started setting up the stage for the summer theater last Monday. This year, according to DNT, both the direction of view and the playing surface have been redesigned. The decision was made to include industrial architecture and natural landscape as a unique backdrop. The grandstand offers space for 700 spectators. On Monday, the rehearsals for the performances from July 17th to 15th will begin.
