Thuringia: Greens want to debate several special funds

Erfurt (dpa/th) - At a party conference, the Thuringian Greens want to discuss the introduction of several special funds for the Free State. They want to ensure that public funds are invested in special funds outside of the regular state budget for the areas of education, climate change and mobility. "We would like to feed that into the debate at this point," said Green Party spokeswoman Ann-Sophie Bohm on Tuesday in Erfurt.

Bohm assumes that the application will be decided at the party conference - the next step would then be to discuss the demand with the coalition partners Left and SPD. Since Red-Red-Green does not have its own majority in the state parliament, the CDU or FDP would also have to join the call for special funds so that these could actually be made available.

At the party congress, the new election of the state executive is also on the agenda. Bohm and her co-spokesman Bernhard Stengele are again in office as state chairmen. It is currently not apparent that there are opposing candidatures for both.
