Saalfeld (dpa/th) - Unknown persons damaged over 40 vehicles in Saalfeld on New Year's Eve. At around midnight, they smashed vehicle windows, punctured tires and scratched the paintwork at various locations in the Saalfeld area, the police said on Monday. Accordingly, 29 vehicles were damaged in the Rudolstädter Straße alone in the area of a car dealership. Ten other vehicles were demolished in a parking lot on Reinhardstrasse. The police reported another incident in the large car park on Promenadenweg and two other damaged vehicles on Kelzstrasse.
The material damage caused cannot be quantified at this point in time. The police also assume that other vehicles in Saalfeld were damaged by the perpetrators, but the owners have not yet noticed.
