Urgent application in Cologne: Schönbohm goes to court against a work ban

BSI President Schönbohm has been criticized for his lack of distance from Russian intelligence circles. Jan Böhmermann had previously discussed this in the program "ZDF Magazin Royale". He now wants to defend himself legally against his dismissal by the Ministry of the Interior.

The President of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Arne Schönbohm, is legally defending himself against the ban on Federal Minister of the Interior Nancy Faeser from the SPD from carrying out his official business. The responsible administrative court in Cologne confirmed the receipt of a corresponding urgent application from the 53-year-old at the request of the German Press Agency. "The urgent application was received here last Monday," said a court spokeswoman.

The "mirror" had reported first. The Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) had been asked by the court to issue a statement within two weeks, the spokeswoman explained. According to "Spiegel", Schönbohm rejects the allegations made against him in a 50-page letter from his lawyers.

On October 18, the Federal Ministry of the Interior prohibited Schönbohm from conducting his official business with immediate effect and justified this with a disturbed relationship of trust. In addition, Schönbohm was criticized for contacts with the controversial association "Cyber Security Council Germany", which is said to have connections to Russian secret services. Jan Böhmermann had previously discussed this in the program "ZDF Magazin Royale".
