Obernzell (dpa / lby) - With a helicopter and several drones, around 160 emergency services searched a forest in the Passau district for a paraglider who allegedly crashed. After several hours of unsuccessful search, it turned out that it was probably a false alarm, as the police announced on Wednesday.
A woman had observed on Tuesday evening how a paraglider flew over a forest area near Obernzell and then, in her view, crashed into the treetops. According to a police spokesman, a motorized paraglider was probably flying over the forest at the time. However, there is no indication of a missing person. The police spokesman could not say how high the costs for the large-scale operation are. The spokesman said that the woman would probably not incur any costs because she only wanted to help a fellow citizen.
