Geisingen (dpa / lsw) - In a collision between a truck and a car with a caravan, a woman near Geisingen (Tuttlingen district) was critically injured. A man who was also in the car with her was seriously injured in the accident on federal highway 31 on Monday, the police said. It was not immediately known who of the two injured was driving the car.
The car with the two occupants aged 71 and 72 had previously turned off the Autobahn 81 onto the Bundesstraße 31 in the direction of Freiburg around 3 p.m. According to the police, they were hit with full force by a truck driving towards Tuttlingen. The truck driver is said to have tried to swerve into the opposite lane.
According to the police, the federal road 31 was completely blocked. There were significant traffic delays. Shortly after 5:00 p.m., the recovery of the vehicles was completed and traffic was reopened. The investigations are ongoing.
