"We are witnessing a global pandemic, turmoil, rising hatred, bigotry and intolerance and much, much more," Obama said in a video posted on her social media channels. "I feel vulnerable, sometimes I'm scared. How can we overcome our fears? How can we turn our frustration into something positive?" she asks, promising answers to the questions of our time in her new book.

In the book, Obama shares her principles and beliefs, "which helped her to overcome even the most difficult obstacles in life and to keep growing," announced the Penguin Random House publishing group.

In Germany, "The light in us - finding support in uncertain times" is to be published by Goldmann-Verlag - digitally and printed in a first edition of 200,000 copies, it said. At the same time, the book will be published in 13 other languages ​​and 26 countries. The price for the roughly 400-page work is around 28 euros.

According to the publisher, Michelle Obama's first book "Becoming - My Story" has sold more than 17 million copies worldwide. For the 2018 release, the former first lady spoke exclusively to the star:
