Frankfurt/Main (dpa/lhe) - You are said to have swindled around 700,000 euros from an apparently very gullible pediatrician. That's why two spouses have been in front of the Frankfurt Regional Court since Friday. On the first day of the hearing, however, only their defense attorneys, who brought certificates from their clients, appeared. The indictment is scheduled to be read next Friday.
The 34 and 38-year-old defendants are said to have gained the doctor's trust over a three-year period and received loans from him in 155 individual cases. Although partial amounts were never repaid, the pediatrician repeatedly had new payments made. The background is currently still in the dark. The public prosecutor assumes commercial fraud in a particularly serious case. The process was originally supposed to end after three days of negotiations in mid-December.
