Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Federal highway 103 can be used again earlier than planned

Sarmstorf/Stralsund (dpa/mv) - The road construction work on the federal highway 103 near Sarmstorf (Rostock district) will be completed earlier than planned. The full closure can probably be lifted on Wednesday (June 8), around a week and a half earlier than originally planned, the Stralsund road construction authority announced on Friday.

According to the plans, the renovation of the last section between the intersection of the Kritzkow industrial park and the Laage junction on the A19 will begin on the following Monday. However, no full closure is planned here, instead traffic should continue to flow in one lane using traffic lights. The road construction department wants to complete the work by the end of June.

It is also said that the renovation of the road surface on the B103 was necessary because the road was in a poor overall condition after frequent repair work. Accordingly, the federal government bears the costs of 2.5 million euros.
