Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: Left decides on candidates for Rostock mayor election

Rostock (dpa/mv) - The Rostock district association of the Left Party wants to decide today who will stand for the party on November 13 in the mayoral elections in the Hanseatic city. So far, the Rostock Senator for Social Affairs and Health, Steffen Bockhahn, and the member of the state parliament, Eva-Maria Kröger, have been in conversation.

The board of directors of the Rostock FDP district association is advising almost simultaneously (from 6.30 p.m.) on its recommendation for an applicant. The director of the State Police Office, Michael Ebert, is under discussion as a possible candidate from the CDU and FDP. The district board of the CDU also meets on Monday evening.

A new mayor will be elected in Rostock on November 13th. Should a runoff election become necessary, this is scheduled for November 27th.
