North Rhine-Westphalia: "Action training" against the eviction of Lützerath

Lützerath (dpa / lnw) - The activists in the lignite village of Lützerath have announced "action training" in the occupied place - to train methods against the impending eviction. "We are practicing how to block the eviction and demolition of Lützerath using various methods," it said in an announcement on Wednesday. The training is said to take place on January 2nd.

Lützerath near Erkelenz in the district of Heinsberg is to be dredged for coal extraction. However, activists who want to fight for the place live in the houses whose former residents have moved away. They see no need to dig up and burn the coal. Land and houses belong to the energy company RWE.

An evacuation of Lützerath is expected in January. On the day of the announced "action training", January 2nd, preparatory work for this mission is already expected.
