North Rhine-Westphalia: fire brigade saves an unconscious man from a burning apartment

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - An unconscious man was rescued from a burning apartment in Duisburg. The fire broke out in a room in the apartment around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, a fire department spokesman said. The extinguishing work in the Untermeiderich district continued early in the morning. The risk of spreading to other parts of the apartment and the apartment building does not exist, it said. The 46-year-old was taken to a hospital. The fire brigade initially had no information about his state of health. The cause of the fire was also still unclear.
