North Rhine-Westphalia: mother stabbed and severed head: son admitted

Duisburg (dpa / lnw) - After the cruel killing of his mother, a man from Mülheim an der Ruhr was admitted to the closed psychiatric ward on Tuesday. According to the verdict, the 36-year-old stabbed his mother with a kitchen knife on December 1, 2021. He then severed the 68-year-old's head and smashed it with the bottom of a table.

In the trial at the Duisburg district court, the mentally ill man was silent on the allegations. He was arrested after the crime, covered in blood, in front of his mother's house.

According to the verdict, the 36-year-old suffered from hallucinations and delusions at the time of the crime. "He didn't even see his mother anymore, but thought he was looking at a robot," said judge Mario Plein. He suspected a chip in this robot that he believed was suitable for fighting Corona. He reported this to the psychiatrist commissioned by the court.

In the process, the man from Bosnia-Herzegovina was considered innocent. According to the verdict, the accommodation was for the protection of the general public. The judge ruled the act itself as manslaughter. The judgment is not final.
