Arendsee (dpa/sa) - Thieves have stolen the railing door of the excursion ship "Queen Arendsee" in the Altmark tourist resort of Arendsee on the lake of the same name. The crime happened between Thursday afternoon and Friday morning, the police in Salzwedel said on Friday. The unusual stolen goods were attached to the front left of the ship that was at the boat dock at the time of the crime. The door is about 80 by 70 centimeters in size, the damage to property is around 200 euros, it said.
According to the city, the "Queen Arendsee" is a paddle steamer in the style of a Mississippi shuffle boat. It offers space for around 120 people and is a tourist highlight on the largest natural lake in Saxony-Anhalt, which is around five square kilometers in size.
