Pirna (dpa / sn) - In Saxon Switzerland, a central hiking trail is to be renovated from next week. The administration of the Saxon Switzerland National Park announced on Friday that the so-called "Schwedenlöcher" will be built between the spa town of Rathen and the Felstal from November 7th until next spring. Accordingly, the support structure of a concrete walkway is being extensively renewed there. During the construction work, detours are to be made from Rathen and from a bastion on the hiking trail.
The climbing system in the "Schwedenlochen" comprises a total of 700 steps and is renewed about every seven years. A different section of the hiking trail had already been constructed last year. According to their own information, the national park administration has so far invested a mid-five-digit amount.
