Saxony: Five injured in an apartment fire in Heidenau

Heidenau (dpa/sn) - Five people were injured in an apartment fire in Heidenau in the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district on New Year's morning. It is still unclear how the fire in the apartment building on Martin-Luther-Strasse came about, the police said on Monday. Accordingly, the four adults aged 32 to 48 years and a four-year-old boy suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital. The relationship between the injured and each other was initially unclear. The damage was estimated at several tens of thousands of euros.
