Dresden (dpa/sn) - The Free State is supporting a further 264 art and culture projects this year through its cultural foundation. According to information from Friday in Dresden, the board approved more than 2.5 million euros. This provides financial support for projects in the performing arts and music, visual arts, film, industrial culture, socioculture and literature - from exhibitions and catalogues, artist exchanges, concerts, productions and workshops to the development of films, screenplays or a street festival. They were selected from 390 applications for funding.
According to the information, more than 1.9 million euros were already spent on 174 projects in the first half of 2022. The foundation can spend more funding this year because it has an additional 1.5 million euros at its disposal from the Corona Coping Fund.
