Dominic Smith, finalist in the first "Prince Charming" season around Nicolas Puschmann, has died according to media reports. Friends and colleagues say goodbye to the 33-year-old on social media.
In 2019, Dominic Smith fought for the heart of Nicolas Puschmann in the first season of the RTL dating show "Prince Charming", but had to admit defeat to Lars Tönsfeuerborn in the final. Now the reality TV candidate is said to have died at the age of only 33, as reported by the "Bild" newspaper and the comment column on his Instagram channel.
Numerous dismayed comments accumulated under Smith's last post from June, in which he talked in a long text about having to recharge your batteries, but looking ahead and not wanting to give up.
Among other things, in addition to Puschmann and Tönsfeuerborn, former co-candidates Martin Angelo and Aaron Königs mourn Smith. Angelo writes: "The time we had together will not be able to be taken from me. No one understood me like you did …" Alex Schäfer, himself "Prince Charming" of the second season, says goodbye with the following lines: "I miss the words...I hope you are doing well where you are now! Bon voyage."
Manuel Flickinger, also known from the first "Prince Charming" season, told the "Bild" newspaper that he was in contact with Smith's family. His mother informed him of her son's death. Nothing is known about the cause so far, but Smith is said to have suffered from depression, as the "Bild" newspaper continues.
Dominic Smith had come out as a sensitive permanent single on the show. "I'm afraid of being hurt in life," he told RTL at the time. And in August last year he addressed his followers via Instagram with a confession. "As some of you have noticed, I haven't been feeling very well for a few weeks. Accordingly, I have made a decision and will be going offline here on Instagram for a while," it said at the time.
