Thuringia: 800 million euros for social projects in Thuringia

Erfurt (dpa/th) - Thuringia can budget around 800 million euros for social projects by 2027. The first projects should start at the end of the week, the Ministry of Social Affairs announced on Monday in Erfurt. The new program, to which the EU Commission is contributing 466 million euros as part of the European Social Fund Plus, is entitled "Securing skilled workers and social participation".

As the ministry explained, the funds are intended to help cover the high demand for labor and skilled workers by supporting all areas of securing skilled workers. On the other hand, there is a focus on promoting social participation and improving the employability of people who are disadvantaged in the labor market, long-term unemployed or inactive people, including the expansion of the corresponding social and educational infrastructure.

According to the information, a total of 61 projects will be implemented in all Thuringian administrative districts and urban districts in the future. According to the ministry, this includes integration projects that are intended to make it easier for people who are disadvantaged and unemployed to enter or re-enter the labor market. Participation projects are also funded, which provide unemployed people with significant personal problems with close-meshed socio-educational support to help them overcome them.
