Jena (dpa/th) - The Jena theater will start the 2022/2023 season with the premiere of the play "Making Plans" on September 29. In addition, with "Stay - German course II", "Love burns like a wet rag", "Matilda goes on the route - the long-distance flight" and "Bear in the boat" four other premieres are on the schedule, as the theater announced on Monday.
In addition, the Long Night of Ukrainian Literature offers the opportunity to experience Ukrainian authors and their texts. The highlight of the event on October 8 will be a performance by Serhij Zhadan. The Peace Prize Winner of the German Book Trade 2022 performs with his band.
In the 2022/2023 season, the actress, performer and director Lizzy Timmers and the stage designer Maarten van Otterdijk will take over the management of the Jena Theater. Both are known from previous seasons as members of the Dutch collective "Wunderbaum", which has been the artistic director since October 2018. Linde Dercon, Nikita Buldyrski, Anna K. Seidel and Paul Wellenhof will be new to the stage. Dramaturg Hannah Baumann is also new to the team.
