Roßdorf (dpa/th) - The horse found dead in a paddock in Roßdorf (Schmalkalden-Meiningen) did not die because of a violent attack. The Haflinger mare had succumbed to acute colic, the police said on Friday after examining the carcass at the State Office for Consumer Protection. The serious injuries that the horse showed could be attributed to animal eating. At first it was assumed that an animal abuser injured the horse so badly.
