Strasburg/Jarmen (dpa/mv) - Two accidents caused major disruptions on Autobahn 20 in eastern Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania on Tuesday. As police spokesman said, a car driver had an accident just before Jarmen (West Pomerania-Greifswald) in the morning, in which one person was injured. Shortly thereafter, a grain truck collided with a sign truck from the highway maintenance department near Strasburg in the same district, overturned and lost large parts of the load. Both directions of travel had to be closed for several hours.
At Jarmen, a 62-year-old driver hit a guardrail, overturned the car and stayed on the roof. The passenger was injured in a clinic, the A20 south of Jarmen was temporarily closed to the north. The cause of the accident was still unclear. The damage was estimated at around 30,000 euros. At Strasburg, the grain load poured out in both directions. The truck driver was slightly injured.
