Saxony: 400,000 visitors at the Dresden city festival "Canaletto"

Dresden (dpa/sn) - Extra steamer trips on the Elbe, live concerts by Mia and Silly, carousel rides: the Dresden city festival attracted many visitors again this year. "A total of around 400,000 people celebrated with us - most of them in a great mood and extremely peaceful, because there were no incidents worth mentioning," summarized organizer Frank Schröder on Sunday. The festival mile extended on both sides of the Elbe, on the river itself the White Fleet organized a steamboat parade. Children were also able to slip into police uniforms and inspect an ambulance on a blue light strip in the state parliament.
