Passau (dpa / lby) - A man was hit by a freight train in Lower Bavaria and died of his injuries. The 30-year-old was too close to the tracks in Passau, the police said on Monday. The man was wanted by the police at this time on Friday evening. About an hour earlier, he and a 23-year-old companion were standing in front of the apartment of a 20-year-old acquaintance. When entering, the 30-year-old reportedly attacked the host with a sharp object and cut his upper arm.
At the same time, the 23-year-old hit the acquaintance with a rolling pin against the head. A 21-year-old man opposed the two attackers and also suffered cuts. After that, both aggressors ran away. The police were later able to identify the dead 30-year-old as one of the attackers. The 23-year-old was found by officers and arrested. Both men, with minor injuries, were taken to the hospital.
