Bavaria: SMS fraud: Alleged repayment by the ministry

Ludwigsstadt (dpa / lby) - In Upper Franconia, fraudsters have started a new scam in which they pretend an alleged money repayment by the Federal Ministry of Finance. People receive an SMS with the request to verify themselves using the bank details via an attached link, as the police announced on Friday. An attentive woman from Ludwigsstadt (Kronach district) reported this to the police after she received such a message herself. Another scam is the alleged tax refund with the same procedure. The Ludwigsstadt police expressly warns against opening the link mentioned, since the relevant ministries or offices do not send SMS.
