Bochum (dpa / lnw) - With almost 4 per thousand alcohol in the breath, a driver in Bochum left the road with his car and crashed into two trees. The 26-year-old and his 20-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries in the accident early on Saturday morning, the police said. The men were taken to a hospital.

A breath alcohol test on the 26-year-old showed a value of 3.84 per mille. He also didn't have a valid driver's license. The accident happened around 4:30 a.m. in a left-hand bend. The driver lost control of his car there, it said. The police seized the car.
