North Rhine-Westphalia: Young woman pushed into the track bed

Cologne (dpa / lnw) - A young woman was pushed from the platform of a Cologne train station by an unknown person into the track bed. Rescue workers took the injured 28-year-old woman from Cologne to a hospital on Tuesday morning, as the federal police announced on Wednesday. Witness interviews and video evaluations had shown that there had been a dispute at Cologne-Mülheim train station between the young woman and the unknown attacker before he hit her in the face and she kicked him. The stranger then pushed the woman so that she fell onto the track bed.

Other travelers helped the young woman off the track bed, as a spokeswoman for the federal police said. The dark-clad attacker fled and probably took the S11 towards Bergisch Gladbach. The search in the vicinity was unsuccessful. The federal police are investigating unknown persons for bodily harm.
