Saxony: Eleven-year-old injured when lighting the remains of fireworks

Annaberg-Buchholz (dpa/sn) - An eleven-year-old was seriously injured when the remains of fireworks were ignited in Annaberg-Buchholz (Erzgebirge district). The boy had collected used fireworks on New Year's Day and collected the remains of black powder, the police said on Monday. When he ignited the pile, there was a jet of flame about 1.50 meters high. The boy suffered burns and was taken to a hospital by rescue helicopter.
