Hesse: Horse triggers fire service in Frankfurt

Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - The Frankfurt fire brigade has freed a horse from an awkward situation. The animal wanted to cross a gate in a paddock on Tuesday and got stuck. It finally stood with its front legs on one side of the gate and its back legs on the other side, the fire department said on Wednesday. Since the owner could not help the animal either, she dialed the emergency number. The fire brigade finally freed the animal by cutting through the gate, which was firmly anchored in the ground, with the help of hydraulic shears. The injured horse was then treated by a veterinarian.
