Erfurt (dpa/th) - The corona incidence has fallen in Thuringia. The Robert Koch Institute gave the number of officially recorded weekly new infections per 100,000 inhabitants on Thursday as 114.6. A week ago, the incidence in Thuringia was 130.9. With the current value, the Free State is the federal state with the lowest incidence of infection.
However, experts have been assuming that the number of infections is unreported for some time, since the RKI numbers only include the cases detected by means of a PCR test, but not the evidence by quick or self-tests. However, many doctors now do without PCR tests.
Within seven days, 31 more deaths from people infected with the corona virus were reported in Thuringia. According to the RKI, the total number of deaths in connection with Corona since the beginning of the pandemic has increased to 8022 in Thuringia.
